Polar Express

We rode the Polar Express to the North Pole on Friday. Hot cocoa, cookies, Santa, cousins, and radiator heat set to at least 90 degrees.

Baker

Nothing says Christmas like a Santa apron, cut-out cookies, and little flour on your chin.

Santa's Wildlife

Yesterday, Addie's school went to the Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary for a carriage ride driven by Santa. We saw horses, buffalo (btw, are buffalo and bison the same thing??), a skunk, elk, and of course, Santa's reindeer!! It was lots of fun. There were hot cocoa, cookies (and best friends) at the end to help us thaw.

Cookies

Today was our second annual cookie exchange, and man the competition was stiff, or was it the drinks?

St. Nick

In the midwest, St. Nick comes the night of December 5th and fills kids' stockings (or shoes?) with goodies. This is news to me, since I'm from the east coast, where we do stockings on Christmas day. We're not one to break
Midwest tradition though, so we left the doors unlocked and the lights on for him (which brings me to another point that Addie brought up: "how do we know St. Nick isn't a girl?!"). Based on what was left in her stocking, I dare say he just might be a girl.

A couple of weeks ago, I came home from the mall to find this. When I asked what the occasion was, Scott said, " she wanted to play Super Star!" Mission accomplished.

Thankful

Today, among many other things, I am thankful for this!!

Owen took Addie out on his new Harley last night. I asked him where they were going and he said, "South America." He then realized how ridiculous it would be to drive a Harley all the way to South America, so he quickly retorted, "NO!!!! Mexico!!"
