Adventures in Babysitting

Evan came over to help babysit Ben today, so far so good.

Sink or Swim

Swimming lessons have started again; there are three sessions left, and I'm fairly confident that Scott will graduate to the next level.

Merry Maid

What a great little "helper" we have here! For $5.50 an hour, she'll "clean" your house, too, and for $10.50, she'll leave.

Little car washer

Her grandpa and her uncle will be so proud!

Pie Season

It's officially pie season. I made strawberry rhubarb today, and although it looks a little messy, I'm fairly confident that it will taste yummy. Actually, after closer examination, I've decided this pie is in need of some Botox and Restylane or maybe a good dollop of vanilla ice cream will do the trick.

Needle in a Cup Stack

Every morning, Scott creates a mini "Christmas" for Addie. She loves her vitamins, so he likes to hide them amongst her toys. She looks forward to his new vitamin creation every morning. Well, for today's display, she hit pay dirt!!! She had to find the egg that contained her vitamins, and as you can see, she was thrilled with her prize. Let's hope she's still this joyous when she has to take Fosamax at 60!

Jellies and Triceps

Now that it's tank top season, Addie decided she would don her 1980s jellies while she completed her first triceps workout.

Underwhere?

One day Addie will see the humor in these photos.

Flower Girl

Well, I bought our hydrangea today for our front step; I sure hope it goes better than last year and that it's not dead by June 1st.  Hydrangeas are my favorite flowers, and apparently, like mother like daughter. I think, however, that Addie has taken her love for them a bit further than I.  Actually, I think her relationship with flowers is a bit twisted.  Every time she sees them, she says, "Mmmmmm!" as if she's peering into the flavor case at Baskin Robbins, and it doesn't matter if they're fake or real. In the first photo, she's actually trying to give it a hug :-)
It's pretty darn cute, if you ask me, but then I guess I have a biased opinion.

Port-a-Potty

Well, the potty has become a fascination again; however, it is played with more than it is properly used. Today it made its rounds throughout the house, but no deposits were ever made. I think it's just a ploy Addie is using so that she has an excuse to run around half dressed.

Unladylike Lounger

Addie is 21 months today; let's hope she doesn't lounge in a skirt this way when she's 21 (well, it's a skort; does that make it acceptable?)

Grin and Bear It

We went to the zoo today, and the bears hammed it up for the camera; good thing Addie behaved because I'm sure she could have been the jimmies, whipped cream, and cherry on top of their happy ending sundae (those who know Friendly's Ice Cream will know exactly what I'm talking about). Speaking of ice cream.....that sounds pretty good right about now!

Hump Day

Even though I don't have a "real job", I still look forward to the weekend just as much, if not more, than during my teaching days! I no longer have a bell that rings at 2:40 signaling the end of the day, and I can't send Addie home to her parents; on the weekend, however, I can leave her with her dad for a while so that I can enjoy what some refer to as "time off".
This Hump Day has been a long one; it's rainy today and we quickly ran out of things to do. Our last resort was playing under the dining room table and behind the high chair. After a couple of bonks on the head, we did what any other stir-crazy mom and daughter would do: we went to the  mall!
